Lineage.  Designated as 1722 Combat Control Squadron, and activated, on 1 Jul 1984.  Redesignated as 62 Combat Control Squadron on 1 Jun 1992.  Redesignated as 22 Special Tactics Squadron on 1 May 1996.   

Assignments.  Twenty-Second Air Force, 1 Jul 1984; 1725 Combat Control Group, 1 Mar 1991; 62 Operations Group, 1 Jun 1992; 720 Special Tactics Group, 1 May 1996-. 

Stations.  McChord AFB (later, Joint Base Lewis-McChord), WA, 1 Jul 1984-. 

Service Streamers.  None.

Campaign Streamers.  Southwest Asia: Liberation and Defense of Kuwait. 

Afghanistan: Consolidation I; Consolidation II; Consolidation III.  Iraq: Liberation of Iraq with Arrowhead; National Resolution; Iraqi Surge; Iraqi Sovereignty; New Dawn.
