Lineage. Constituted as 944 Tactical Dispensary, and activated, on 28 Dec 1962. Organized in the Reserve on 17 Jan 1963. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 25 Mar 1968. Redesignated as 944 Tactical Clinic on 12 Nov 1986. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1987. Redesignated as: 944 Tactical Hospital on 1 Oct 1989; 944 Medical Squadron on 1 Nov 1990.

Assignments. 944 Troop Carrier (later, 944 Tactical Airlift) Group, 17 Jan 1963-25 Mar 1968. 944 Tactical Fighter (later, 944 Fighter) Group, 1 Jul 1987; 944 Medical Group, 1 Aug 1992; 944 Fighter Wing, 1 Apr 1997-.
