Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1931-1941; successively Director, Operations, Far East Air Forces, and Chief of Staff, Allied Air Forces, Southwest Pacific Area, 1942-1945; Staff Member, Office of the Secretary of Defense, 1949-1953; Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, USAF, Europe, 1953-1956; member, Strategic Survey Commission, Joint Chiefs of Staff, 1956-1959. Retired March 1959. Died 29 April 1959, Andrews AFB, Washington, DC.
