Air Service Field Officers' School, 1922; Air Service Engineering School, 1923; Command and General Staff School, 1936; Army War College, 1939. Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Field Artillery, November 1916; began duty in Air Service, 1918. Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1918-1940; Military Air Observer with the US Legation, Egypt, 1940-1941. Killed in aircraft accident 20 April 1941, at El Obeid, Anglo-Egyptian Sudan.
