Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1929-1943; Commander, Bainbridge Field, March August 1943; Deputy Chief of Staff, Eastern Flying Training Command, August 1943-December 1944; Commander, Maxwell Field, December 1944-October 1945; patient, AAF Convalescent Hospital, October 1945. Retired with Disability, 31 July 1946.

Personal and official papers relating mostly to Choate's Army Air Force career. Contains several photographs of the time period Choate was at Maxwell Field (1929-1945), including aerial shots of a local flood in 1929. Also includes a copy of Air Force, the official journal of the US Army Air Forces (August 1944). Contains other mementoes and newsclippings including a schedule for a Combined Tactical Demonstration (21 June 1945). Also contains personnel records (1944-1945).
