Personal and official papers relating to Lee's Air Force career, primarily for 1941-1949 and pertaining largely to tactical air power and air-ground support. Includes proceedings and report of Air Ground Training Test Board (1941). Also includes various reports and studies relating to WWII operations and activities of Ninth Air Force and subordinate commands, 1944-1945.Contains materials on tactical air operations, fighter bomber control, and ground-air support. Also contains a statistical summary of Ninth Air Force operations (1943-1945). Also includes a few reports of the General Board, US Forces-European Theater of Operation (1945) pertaining to control of tactical aircraft, the tactical air force in Europe, and the strategy of the Western Europe campaign, 1944-1945.
