Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Coast Artillery Corps Reserve, October 1933 and served to grade of First Lieutenant, 1933-1938; vacated commission and enlisted as Flying Cadet, October 1938. Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Air Reserve, August 1939. Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1939-1951; Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, Far East Air Forces bomber Command, 1951-1952; Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel, Strategic Air Command, 1952-1955; Commander, 371st Bomb Wing, 1955-1957; Chief of Staff, United States Air Force Academy, 1959-1960; National Commander, Civil Air Patrol, 1960-1962; Vice Commander, Thirteenth Air Force, 1962-1963; Commander, Ground Electronics Engineering and Installation Agency, 1964-1967. Retired August 1967. Died 1991.
