Attained the rank of Colonel in the USAAF. He was born in Raton, NM. Polifka joined the military in June of 1937 and served as commander of the 90th Photo Reconnaissance Wing during World War II. The Colonel was killed in action.

This collection is one box of 97 documents in five folders containing personal papers, official papers, personal and official correspondence, a newspaper clipping, and a photograph. Two booklets by Harold Luskin of the Douglas Aircraft Company are included. One of the booklets is named Predictions Of Supersonic Aircraft Performance and the other booklet is a lecture named Some Speculations On Next Decade In Airplane Development. The collection was declassified by AFHRA SAFEPAPER in accordance with Executive Order (EO) 12958.
