Lineage. Constituted as Base Detachment, Pope Field on 20 Nov 1940. Activated on 4 Dec 1940. Redesignated: 92 Air Base Squadron (Special) on 4 Aug 1941; 92 Air Base Squadron on 4 Apr 1942; 92 Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron on 13 Jun 1942. Disbanded on 14 Apr 1944. Reconstituted, and redesignated 92 Mission Support Squadron, on 7 Mar 1989. Activated on 1 Apr 1989. Redesignated 92 Force Support Squadron on 1 Dec 2008.
