Redesignated as 96 Services Squadron on 1 Oct 1965. Inactivated on 1 Mar 1970. Activated on 1 Oct 1979. Redesignated as 96 Morale, Welfare, Recreation and Services Squadron on 1 Jun 1992. Inactivated on 1 Oct 1993. Redesignated as 96 Services Squadron on 10 Mar 1994. Activated on 15 Mar 1994. Redesignated as 96 Force Support Squadron on 1 Jul 2009.
