Lineage.  Established as 86 Air Base Group, and activated, on 1 Jul 1948.  Inactivated on 8 Mar 1958.  Activated on 1 Nov 1969.  Redesignated as 86 Combat Support Group on 14 Nov 1969.  Inactivated on 14 Jun 1985.  Redesignated as 86 Support Group, and activated, on 1 May 1991.  Redesignated as 86 Mission Support Group on 27 Sep 2002.  Inactivated on 15 Jan 2004.  Activated on 16 Jul 2009.
