The 349 Communications Squadron (constituted 349 Communications Squadron, Troop Carrier, Medium on 10 May 1949; activated in the Reserve on 27 Jun 1949; redesignated 349 Communications Squadron on 3 Mar 1950; ordered to Active Service on 1 Apr 1951; inactivated on 2 Apr 1951; activated in the Reserve on 13 Jun 1952; inactivated on 14 Apr 1959) and the 349 Operations Squadron (constituted on 5 Dec 1958; activated in the Reserve on 14 Apr 1959; ordered to Active Service on 28 Oct 1962; relieved from Active Duty on 28 Nov 1962; discontinued, and inactivated, on 11 Feb 1963) consolidated (1 Feb 1987) with the 349 Information Systems Squadron (constituted 349 Communications Flight on 18 Jun 1976; activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1976; redesignated 349 Information Systems Squadron on 10 Apr 1985). Redesignated: 349 Communications Squadron on 1 Feb 1987; 349 Communications Flight on 1 Aug 1992; 349 Communications Squadron on 1 Apr 1997.
