823 Base Defense Squadron (ACC)

Lineage.  Constituted as 823 Air Police Squadron on 19 Jan 1956.  Activated on 1 Jun 1956.  Redesignated as 823 Combat Defense Squadron on 1 Nov 1958.  Discontinued, and inactivated, on 1 Oct 1961. Consolidated (12 Oct 1984) with the 823 Combat Security Police Squadron, which was constituted on 2 Oct 1968.   Activated on 15 Oct 1968.  Inactivated on 31 Dec 1969.  Redesignated as: 823 Security Police Squadron on 12 Oct 1984; 823 Security Forces Squadron on 20 Sep 2000.  Activated on 6 Dec 2000.  Redesignated as 823 Base Defense Squadron on 30 Sep 2010.
