Lineage. Constituted as Base Detachment, Ladd Field, on 30 Dec 1941. Activated on 23 Apr 1942. Redesignated as 439 Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron on 22 Sep 1942. Disbanded on 29 Apr 1944. Reconstituted, redesignated as 439 Mission Support Squadron, and activated in the Reserve on 1 Aug 1992. Redesignated as 439 Force Support Squadron on 15 Oct 2010.

Assignments. 11 (later, Eleventh) Air Force, 23 Apr 1942-29 Apr 1944. 439 Support (later, 439 Mission Support) Group. 1 Aug 1992-.
