Lineage. Constituted as 944 Combat Support Squadron, and activated, on 28 Dec 1962. Organized in the Reserve on 17 Jan 1963. Redesignated as 944 Support Squadron on 25 Mar 1968. Inactivated on 1 Jan 1972. Redesignated as 944 Air Base Squadron on 15 Oct 1975. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jan 1976. Inactivated on 1 Jan 1977. Redesignated as 944 Combat Support Squadron on 12 Nov 1986. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1987. Redesignated as: 944 Mission Support Squadron on 1 Feb 1992; 944 Mission Support Flight on 1 Sep 2003; 944 Force Support Squadron on 15 Oct 2010.
