Lineage.  Established as 724 Training Group on 22 Jan 1943.  Activated on 28 Feb 1943.  Disbanded on 30 Apr 1944.  Reconstituted, and redesignated, as 724 Special Tactics Group on 1 Mar 2011.  Activated on 29 Apr 2011.

Assignments.  Army Air Forces Technical Training Command, 28 Feb 1943; 76 Training Wing, 25 Sep 1943-30 Apr 1944. Air Force Special Operations Command, 29 Apr 2011; 24 Special Operations Wing, 12 Jun 2012-.

Stations.  Army Air Force Training Center #7, Atlantic City, NJ, 28 Feb 1943; Seymour-Johnson Fld, NC, 16 Jun 1943-30 Apr 1944.  Pope AFB (later, Pope Army Air Field), NC, 29 Apr 2011-.

Service Streamers.  World War II: American Theater.

Campaign Streamers.  None.

Armed Forces Expeditionary Streamers.  None.

Decorations.  Meritorious Unit Awards: 1 Oct 2014-30 Sep 2016; 1 Oct 2016-30 Sep 2018. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award: 1 Oct 2012-30 Sep 2014.
