Lineage.  Designated Squadron C, 27 Airdrome Group on 28 Jul 1947.  Activated on 15 Aug 1947.  Discontinued on 1 Aug 1948.  Consolidated (3 Oct 1984) with the 27 Installations Squadron, Fighter, Two Engine, which was constituted on 14 Jun 1948.  Activated on 1 Aug 1948.  Redesignated 27 Installations Squadron, Fighter, Jet on 16 Dec 1949; 27 Installations Squadron on 1 Feb 1950.  Inactivated on 16 Jun 1952.  Activated on 8 Jan 1958.  Inactivated on 1 Oct 1958.  Redesignated 27 Civil Engineering Squadron on 28 Jan 1969.  Activated on 8 Jun 1969.  Redesignated:  27 Civil Engineer Squadron on 1 Mar 1994; 27 Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron on 1 Oct 2007.
