88 Security Forces Squadron (AFMC)

Lineage.  Constituted as 88 Air Police Squadron, Depot on 16 May 1949.  Activated in the Reserve on 27 Jun 1949.  Ordered to Active Service on 1 May 1951.  Inactivated on 16 May 1951.  Activated in the Reserve on 20 Nov 1952.  Redesignated as 88 Air Police Squadron (Depot) on 12 Nov 1954.  Inactivated on 8 Oct 1956.  Disbanded on 15 Jun 1983.  Reconstituted, and consolidated (16 Sep 1994) with the 2750 Security Police Squadron, which was designated, and activated, on 16 Mar 1980.  Redesignated as:  645 Security Police Squadron on 1 Oct 1992; 88 Security Police Squadron on 1 Oct 1994; 88 Security Forces Squadron on 1 Jul 1997.
