Lineage.  Constituted as 1 Radar and VHF Installation and Maintenance Unit (Aviation) on 30 Jul 1943.  Activated on 10 Aug 1943.  Redesignated as: 1 Signal Radio Maintenance Unit, Aviation on 13 Sep 1944; 1 Signal Radio Maintenance Team, Aviation on 13 Mar 1945; 1 Communication Maintenance Squadron on 22 Aug 1950.  Inactivated on 1 Jan 1959.  Disbanded on 15 Jun 1983.  Reconstituted on 5 May 2003.  Activated on 22 May 2003.
