Lineage.  Constituted as 446 Field Maintenance Squadron on 11 Apr 1955.  Activated in the Reserve on 25 May 1955.  Inactivated on 14 Apr 1959.  Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1976.  Consolidated (22 Oct 1984) with the 446 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (constituted on 5 Dec 1958; activated in the Reserve on 15 Apr 1959; discontinued, and inactivated, on 17 Jan 1963).  Consolidated unit retained designation of 446 Field Maintenance Squadron.  Redesignated as: 446 Equipment Maintenance Squadron on 1 Aug 1990; 446 Maintenance Squadron on 1 Apr 1994.

Assignments.  446 Maintenance and Supply Group, 25 May 1955-14 Apr 1959.  446 Troop Carrier Wing, 14 Apr 1959-17 Jan 1963.  446 Military Airlift (later, 446 Airlift) Wing, 1 Jul 1976; 446 Logistics (later, 446 Maintenance) Group, 1 Aug 1992-.

Stations.  Ellington AFB, TX, 25 May 1955-14 Apr 1959.  Ellington AFB, TX, 14 Apr 1959-17 Jan 1963.  McChord AFB, WA, 1 Jul 1976-.

Decorations.  Meritorious Unit Award: 1 Oct 2006-30 Sep 2007.  Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards: 1 Sep 1982-31 Aug 1984; 1 Aug 1990-31 Jul 1992; 1 Oct 2003-30 Sep 2005.
