Lineage.  Constituted as 50 Communications Squadron on 15 Nov 1952.  Activated on 1 Jan 1953.  Discontinued, and inactivated, on 1 Jul 1962.  Activated on 1 May 1991.  Inactivated on 30 Sep 1991.  Redesignated as 50 Satellite Communications Squadron on 1 Jan 1992.  Activated on 30 Jan 1992.  Redesignated as: 50 Space Communications Squadron on 1 Jul 1992; 50 Communications Squadron on 1 Dec 1997; 50 Space Communications Squadron on 1 Oct 2002; 50 Communications Squadron on 24 Jul 2020.
