Lineage.  Constituted as 936 Aerial Port Flight, and activated, on 28 Apr 1964.  Organized in the Reserve on 8 Jul 1964.  Inactivated on 30 Jun 1974.  Redesignated as 36 Aerial Port Squadron on 13 Feb 1986. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Oct 1986.

Assignments.  936 Troop Carrier (later, 936 Air Transport; 936 Military Airlift) Group, 8 Jul 1964; 78 Aerial Port Squadron, 29 Jun 1971; 936 Tactical Airlift Group, 1 Dec 1972-30 Jun 1974.  446 Military Airlift (later, 446 Airlift) Wing, 1 Oct 1986; 446 Operations Group, 1 Aug 1992; 446 Mission Support Group, 1 Oct 2002-.

Stations.  Richards-Gebaur AFB, MO, 8 Jul 1964-30 Jun 1974.  McChord AFB, WA, 1 Oct 1986-.

Armed Forces Expeditionary Streamers.  None.

Decorations.  Meritorious Unit Award: 1 Oct 2006-30 Sep 2007.  Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards: 1 Aug 1990-31 Jul 1992; 1 Oct 1999-30 Sep 2001; 1 Oct 2003-30 Sep 2005; 1 Oct 2006-30 Sep 2007.
