Lineage.  Constituted as 3415 Signal Service Detachment (Equipment Installation) on 10 Oct 1944.  Activated on 2 Nov 1944.  Redesignated as: 3415 Signal Equipment Installation Detachment on 29 Mar 1945; 5 Signal Equipment Installation Unit on 1 Mar 1949.  Inactivated on 6 Jan 1950.  Redesignated as 355 Communications Squadron, and activated, on 1 May 1992.
