Lineage.  Constituted as 434 Communications Squadron, Troop Carrier, Medium, and activated in the Reserve, on 1 Jul 1949.  Redesignated as 434 Communications Squadron on 1 Mar 1950.  Ordered to Active Service on 1 May 1951.  Relieved from Active Duty on 15 Dec 1952.  Inactivated on 1 Feb 1953.  Activated in the Reserve on 1 Feb 1953.  Inactivated on 14 Apr 1959.  Activated in the Reserve on 1 Dec 1986.  Redesignated as: 434 Communications Flight on 1 Aug 1992; 434 Communications Squadron on 1 Apr 1997.
