Lineage. Constituted as 944 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, and activated, on 8 Dec 1966. Organized in the Reserve on 15 Mar 1967. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 25 Mar 1968. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jan 1972. Redesignated as 944 Field Maintenance Squadron on 1 Jan 1976. Inactivated on 1 Jan 1977. Redesignated as 944 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron on 12 Nov 1986. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1987. Redesignated as 944 Maintenance Squadron on 1 Feb 1992. Inactivated on 1 October 2007. Activated on 1 Jul 2017.
