Lineage.  Designated as 82 Airdrome Group on 28 Jul 1947.  Organized on 15 Aug 1947. Discontinued on 1 Aug 1948.  Reconstituted, and consolidated (1 Oct 1984) with the 82 Air Base Group, which was established on 14 Jun 1948.  Activated on 1 Aug 1948.  Inactivated on 2 Oct 1949.  Redesignated as 82 Air Base Group on 22 Jun 1972.  Activated on 1 Feb 1973.  Redesignated as 82 Support Group on 15 Dec 1991.  Inactivated on 1 Apr 1993.  Activated on 1 Jul 1993.  Redesignated as 82 Mission Support Group on 1 Aug. 2002.


Assignments. 82 Fighter Wing, 15 Aug 1947-1 Aug 1948.  82 Fighter Wing, 1 Aug 1948-2 Oct 1949 (attached to 307 Bomber Wing, 1 Aug-16 Dec 1948).  82 Flying Training Wing, 1 Feb 1973-1 Apr 1993. 82 Training Wing, 1 Jul 1993-.
