309 Aircraft Maintenance Group (AFMC)

Lineage.  Established as 309 Maintenance and Supply Group on 16 May 1949.  Activated on 26 Jun 1949.  Inactivated on 20 Feb 1951.  Disbanded on 27 Sep 1984.  Reestablished, and redesignated 309 Aircraft Maintenance Group, on 31 Jan 2005.  Activated on 24 Feb 2005.      

 

Assignments.  Fourteenth Air Force, 26 Jun 1949 (attached to 314 Maintenance and Supply Group, 26 Jun 1949-1 Aug 1950); Tactical Air Command, 1 Aug 1950-20 Feb 1951.  309 Maintenance Wing, 24 Feb 2005 (attached to Ogden Air Logistics Complex on 12 Jul 2012) and assigned on 1 Oct 2012-.

 

Stations.  Smyrna (later Sewart) AFB, TN, 26 Jun 1949-20 Feb 1951.  Hill AFB, UT, 24 Feb 2005-.
