Lineage.  Established as 55 Station Medical Group on 29 Jun 1948.  Activated on 19 Jul 1948.  Redesignated 55 Medical Group on 1 Apr 1949.  Inactivated on 14 Oct 1949.  Activated on 1 Nov 1950.  Redesignated: 55 Medical Squadron on 10 Feb 1951; 55 Medical Group on 14 Feb 1952; 55 Tactical Hospital on 15 Feb 1954.  Inactivated on 1 Nov 1958.  Consolidated (30 Sep 1993) with 865 Medical Group, which was constituted on 5 Jun 1959.  Activated on 1 Jul 1959.  Redesignated: Ehrling Bergquist USAF Hospital on 15 Jul 1966; Ehrling Bergquist Strategic Hospital on 15 Oct 1987; Ehrling Bergquist Hospital on 1 Jun 1992; 55 Medical Group on 1 Oct 1993.
