Lineage.  Constituted as 2 Aviation Field Depot Squadron on 2 Nov 1950.  Activated on 16 Nov 1950.  Redesignated as:  2 Aviation Depot Squadron on 8 Nov 1954; 2 Munitions Maintenance Squadron on 1 Jul 1960.  Discontinued, and inactivated, on 30 Apr 1965.  Activated on 1 Oct 1972.  Inactivated on 30 Apr 1992.  Redesignated as 2 Munitions Squadron on 24 Feb 1994.  Activated on 28 Feb 1994.


Assignments.  USAF Special Reporting Agency (later, 1090 USAF Special Reporting Wing), 16 Nov 1950; 7 Air Division, 22 May 1951; 3920 Combat Support Group (later, 3920 Strategic Wing), 1 Feb 1959; 7 Air Division, 31 Mar-30 Apr 1965.  2 Bombardment Wing, 1 Oct 1972; 2 Logistics Group, 1 Sep 1991-30 Apr 1992.  2 Logistics (later, 2 Maintenance) Group, 28 Feb 1994-.
