Lineage. Established as Air Force Center for Studies and Analyses, and activated as a direct reporting unit of the United States Air Force, on 30 Sep 1984. Status changed from a direct reporting unit of the United States Air Force to a field operating agency of the United States Air Force on 5 Feb 1991. Redesignated as Air Force Studies and Analyses Agency on 1 Aug 1991. Status changed from a field operating agency of the United States Air Force to a direct reporting unit of the United States Air Force on 1 May 2001. Inactivated on 28 Feb 2006.
