Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1940-1946; Joint War Plans Committee, Joint Chiefs of Staff, 1946-1948; Joint War Plans Committee, NATO, 1949-1954; US Military Representative, European Defense Community, 1954-1955; Military Representative, NATO Council, 1962-1964; Deputy Chief of Staff, Science and Technology, HQ Air Force Systems Command, 1964-1966; Deputy Commander, Defense Atomic Support Agency, Joint Chiefs of Staff, 1967. Retired August 1967.

Official papers relating to Richardson's military service. Primarily includes staff and talking papers relating to Long-range plans, weapon systems, deployment and defense strategy, and NATO (1959-1962).
