(1896-1969). Brigadier General. USAAF, 1920-1947. Born 7 July 1896, Yonkers, NY. Air Service Tactical School, 1923; Command and General Staff School, 1931; Army War College, 1936. Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Infantry Reserve, August 1917 and served to grade of Captain, 1917-1920; began duty in Air Service, August 1920. Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1920-1940; Acting Chief of Staff, Caribbean Air Force, 19401941; Acting Chief of Staff, Third Air Force, 1941-1942; Deputy Commander, VIII Air Support Command, European Theater of Operations, 1943; Commander, Army Air Forces Basic Training Center No. 10, Greensboro, NC, 1943-1944; Commanding General, 30th Flying Training Wing, 1944; Air Inspector, HQ Air Transport Command, 1944-1947. Retired January 1947. Died 26 October 1969, Miami Beach, FL.
Personal and official papers relating primarily to Brady's military career. Includes correspondence (1941-1946), personal and special orders (1919-1945), personnel records retained in his 201 File (1917-1941), and flight logs (1944-1946). Includes speeches and addresses made by Brady and his friends. Contains reports concerning the assignments given the Far East Air Forces during the first three months of World War II (1941-1942). Also included are standard operating procedures (1943) relating mainly to medium size bombers.
