Lineage. Constituted 333 Fighter-Day Squadron on 13 Nov 1957. Activated on 8 Dec 1957. Redesignated: 333 Tactical Fighter Squadron on 1 Jul 1958; 333 Tactical Fighter Training Squadron on 22 Mar 1971. Inactivated on 15 Feb 1991. Redesignated 333 Fighter Squadron, and activated, on 1 Nov 1991.

Between Aug 1971-Feb 1991 trained in tactical fighter attack aircraft to achieve capability to deploy worldwide; supported tactical aviation roles of counterair, interdiction and close air support. Beginning in Nov 1991 trained replacement pilots and weapons systems officers to sustain worldwide fighter aircraft manning. Trained F-15 Strike Eagle aircrews, Oct 1994-.
