Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1952-1968; successively Director of Research and Development and Deputy Director, Air Force Systems Command (AFSC), West Coast Facility, 1968-1970; Deputy For Development Plans, Space and Missile Systems Organization, 1971-1973; Deputy Chief of Staff, Development Plans, HQ AFSC, 1973-1976. Retired August 1976.

Official papers relating to Dunn's duty assignments in the area of missile systems. Includes copies of some official correspondence between the Chief of Staff, USAF and the Commanders, Strategic Air Command and Air Force Systems Command relating to various missiles and missiles programs. Also includes a few Air Force studies on some missiles and missile programs and a paper by Dunn on mission area planning.
