Career assignments include: various duties as company and field grade officer, 1944-1964; Office of Chief of Staff, 1964-1966; successively Vice Commander and Commander, 14th Special Operations Wing, 1969-1970; Deputy Chief of Staff, Distribution, HQ Air Force Logistics Command, 1970-1974. Retired July 1974.

Personal papers relating to Fairbrother's Air Force career. Includes collection of various United States Military Academy textbooks (1940-1944). Also includes several training manuals, handbooks, and pamphlets (1947-1970) relating to air tactics, electronics, survival, physiology of flight, and other similar topics.
