Special Consultant, USAF, 1948-1949; Deputy Chairman, Joint Disarmament Study Group, 1959-1960. Civilian positions include: Law Partner, Hutchins and Wheeler, 1937-1941; successively Partner and Counsel, Hemenway and Barnes, 1945-1988; President and Trustee, Eastern Utilities Associates and Trustee, Massachusetts Investors Trust, 1949-1975. Author of Leaves From My Book of Life (1975).
