Lineage.  Constituted as 81 Motor Vehicle Squadron, Fighter, Single Engine, and activated, on 1 May 1948.  Redesignated as: 81 Motor Vehicle Squadron, Fighter, Jet, on 16 Jul 1949; 81 Motor Vehicle Squadron on 20 Jan 1950; 81 Transportation Squadron on 1 Oct 1956.  Inactivated on 1 Jul 1993.  Activated on 1 Jul 1993.  Redesignated as 81 Logistics Readiness Squadron on 1 Oct 2008.
