88 Force Support Squadron (AFMC)

Lineage.  Constituted as 88 Air Base Squadron (Special), and activated, on 1 Aug 1941.  Redesignated as 88 Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron on 13 Jun 1942.  Disbanded on 30 Apr 1944.  Reconstituted, and redesignated as 88 Air Base Squadron, on 3 Jan 1952.  Activated on 1 Feb 1952.  Inactivated on 16 Feb 1953.  Consolidated (16 Sep 1994) with the 2750 Mission Support Squadron, which was designated, and activated, on 10 Sep 1990.  Redesignated as:  645 Mission Support Squadron on 1 Oct 1992; 88 Mission Support Squadron on 1 Oct 1994; 88 Force Support Squadron on 25 Sep 2009.

Assignments.  87 Air Base Group, 1 Aug 1941; Army Air Forces West Coast Training Center (later, Army Air Forces Western Flying Training Command), 15 Dec 1942-30 Apr 1944.  Eastern Air Defense Force, 1 Feb 1952; 4708 Defense Wing, 6 Feb 1952-16 Feb 1953.  2750 Air Base (later 645 Air Base) Wing, 10 Sep 1990; 88 Support (later, 88 Mission Support) Group, 1 Oct 1994-.

Stations.  Bakersfield, CA, 1 Aug 1941; Lemoore, CA, 12 Dec 1941-30 Apr 1944.  Youngstown Muni Aprt, OH, 1 Feb 1952-16 Feb 1953.  Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, 10 Sep 1990-.
