Lineage. Constituted as 927 Combat Support Squadron, and activated, on 15 Jan 1963. Organized in the Reserve on 11 Feb 1963. Inactivated on 1 Mar 1977. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Nov 1983. Redesignated as: 927 Mission Support Squadron on 1 Feb 1992; 927 Mission Support Flight on 1 Sep 2003; 927 Force Support Squadron on 15 Oct 2010.

Assignments. 927 Troop Carrier (later, 927 Tactical Airlift; 927 Tactical Air Support; 927 Tactical Airlift) Group, 11 Feb 1963; 403 Aerospace Rescue and Recovery (later, 403 Rescue and Weather Reconnaissance) Wing, 15 Mar 1976-1 Mar 1977. 927 Tactical Airlift (later, 927 Airlift; 927 Air Refueling) Group, 1 Nov 1983; 927 Support (later, 927 Mission Support) Group, 1 Aug 1992-.
