Lineage.    Constituted as 18 Air Support Communication Squadron on 24 Mar 1943.  Activated on 1 Apr 1943.  Redesignated as 18 Tactical Air Communications Squadron on 1 Apr 1944.  Disbanded on 10 Jun 1944.  Reconstituted on 19 Mar 1945.  Activated on 15 Apr 1945.  Inactivated on 12 Aug 1946.  Disbanded on 8 Oct 1948.  Reconstituted, redesignated as 18 Air Support Group, and activated, on 15 Jun 1992.  Redesignated as 18 Air Support Operations Group on 1 Jul 1994.
