Lineage.  Constituted as 4 Air Cargo Resupply Squadron on 31 Jul 1944.  Activated on 29 Aug 1944.  Inactivated on 15 Jan 1946.  Redesignated as 4 Military Airlift Support Squadron (Mobile Enroute), and activated, on 3 May 1966.  Organized on 1 Jul 1966.  Inactivated on 1 Jul 1973.  Redesignated as 4 Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron, and converted to provisional status, on 12 Jun 2002.  Activated on 12 Jun 2002.
